Guangxi Yulan Biotechnology Co., Ltd. is located in Guangxi, China, the Star Anise Homeland, which accounts for 80% of the world's Star Anise production. The company was founded at the end of 2004, and has owned 1,400 hectares of Star Anise plantation, which enables the company to have a constant and sufficient supply of good quality Star Anise Fruits.

The company focuses on innovation, production and supply of products derived from Star Anise fruit. Our main products are essential oil and natural ingredients derived from Star Anise fruit. They can be used for food, flavor, fragrance, pharmaceuticals and daily care industries. With the R&D team’s efforts and the support from national and cooperative research institutes, we believe there will be more new products launching in the future.

The R & D that’s set up by the company, belonging to QC department, has a central laboratory. At present, there are 32 research and development personnel, accounting for 24.8% of the total number. Among them, there are 2 senior engineers, 5 middle-level professional titles, owning complete professional categories, strong technical means, rich experience and outstanding developing ability in technological innovation.

Development history

Shikimic acid production line was established in 2006. In 2006, the company was rated as the key leading enterprise of agricultural industrialization in Qinzhou City, Guangxi. Since October, 2006 to December, 2009, we cooperated with Shanghai Pharmaceutical Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences to undertake the research on production technology of star anise extract (shikimic acid) supported by the 11th Five Year Plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
